World Languages - Middle/Junior High School
World Language education prepares students to communicate in a language other than English and to become global citizens. World Language study improves cognitive abilities and positively influences achievement in other disciplines. (Stewart, 2005)
Program Description
St. Paul Public Schools 7-8 language courses include regular and Pre-Advanced Placement in:
American Sign Language
Chinese
French
K-8 French Immersion
Hmong
Dakota
Ojibwe
Spanish
K-12 Spanish Immersion
Junior High students that successfully complete both the Mid-Level 1 and Mid-Level 2 courses in one language will be prepared to enter a high school Level 2 language course.
